Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Verth Labs Private Limited (CIN U62099TS2026PTC219086), a company registered in India with its registered office at Plot No. 9, Phase-5, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally, Tirumalagiri, Hyderabad – 500072, Telangana, India (“Verth Labs”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of the Verth Labs website and lab platform. By creating an account, purchasing access, or using a lab environment, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
Verth Labs provides access to hosted, pre-configured data engineering lab environments and related practice material, used through a web browser. Access is sold as a one-time purchase for a fixed access period; it is not a subscription and nothing renews automatically. We supply the environments and scenarios — we are not a degree-granting institution, we do not provide instruction or tutoring, and we do not guarantee any employment or certification outcome.
We may add, change, or remove features as the platform develops. Where a change would materially reduce what you have already paid for, we will tell you.
Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or 13 or older with the consent and supervision of a parent, guardian, or the institute enrolling you.
- You must be able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. If you are accepting these terms for an institute or employer, you confirm you are authorised to bind them.
- The information you give us — in particular your name and email address — must be accurate and kept up to date.
- Your account is personal to you. Do not share your credentials or let anyone else use your lab access. You are responsible for everything done through your account, and must tell us promptly at support@verthlabs.com if you believe it has been used without your permission.
- One account per person. Accounts created for institute learners are provisioned by that institute and may be withdrawn by it.
Acceptable use of lab environments
Lab environments are real infrastructure — actual clusters, cloud services, and compute running on our account. They are provided for learning and practice only. You must not:
- use a lab environment to attack, scan, probe, or gain unauthorised access to any system, whether ours or a third party's;
- mine cryptocurrency, run botnets or proxies, host public services, distribute malware, or use lab compute for any purpose unrelated to your own practice;
- attempt to escape the environment's isolation, access another learner's workspace or data, or interfere with the platform's operation or other users' sessions;
- store or process unlawful content, or personal data belonging to other people, in a lab environment;
- circumvent access controls, usage limits, or billing — including sharing access, reselling it, or automating sign-ups;
- reverse engineer, copy, or resell the platform or its environment configurations, or use them to build a competing service.
Lab environments are disposable and are not backup storage. We may reset, recycle, or reclaim an environment, and we are not responsible for work you do not save elsewhere. We may also apply reasonable resource limits, and suspend a session that threatens the stability of shared infrastructure.
Payments and access
Access is sold as a one-time payment for the access period you choose — 1, 3, or 6 months. Nothing renews automatically and you will not be charged again when the period ends; you may purchase a further period at any time. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise, and payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway — we do not store your card or bank details.
Access is provisioned within the timeframe set out in our Service Delivery Policy. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which allows a refund within 7 days of purchase where the environment has not been launched, and in full where the platform was unavailable or provisioning failed. Both policies form part of these terms.
Intellectual property
The platform, the Verth Labs name and logo, the lab environments and their configurations, and all scenarios, datasets, documentation, and other material we supply remain the property of Verth Labs Private Limited or its licensors. Your purchase grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for your own learning during your access period. It does not transfer ownership of anything, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Work you create in a lab environment remains yours. Code, notebooks, and analyses you write are your property, and you are free to use them — including in a portfolio. You grant us only the limited permission needed to host, process, back up, and display that work so we can operate the service for you. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you bring into an environment.
Third-party software available in the labs — Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Airflow, and others — remains subject to its own licences. Where a lab connects to a third-party platform, that provider's terms apply to your use of it in addition to these.
Service availability
We work to keep the platform available and performing well, but we provide it on an “as available” basis and do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service. Availability may be affected by maintenance, by faults in infrastructure we depend on, or by events outside our reasonable control. We give advance notice of planned maintenance where practical.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the access period in which the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the platform at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing support@verthlabs.com. Closing your account does not by itself entitle you to a refund; the refund policy applies.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms — in particular the acceptable-use rules above — if your use threatens the security or stability of the platform, or if we are required to by law. Where circumstances allow, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right; serious misuse may result in immediate termination without a refund. If we terminate your access for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused portion of your access period.
On termination, your right to use the platform ends and lab environments and their contents may be deleted. Export anything you want to keep before your access period ends. Terms that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, liability, and governing law — do so.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service or the law changes. The revision date at the top of this page always shows the current version. Where a change is material we will give notice by email or in the product. Continuing to use the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the service and contact us.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana. Please contact us first — most issues are resolved without formal proceedings.
